May be: see a podiatrist. Calluses are due pressure,friction and dryness. Wearing loose and soft shoes, foot soaks and liberal application of emolient lotion after shaving off the callus will help. Also some OTC corn removal pads are helpful

Be sure it's callus!: Some thick skin lesions are not just callus. If recurrent, then dermatology opinion warranted. If truly just callus, then salicylic acid plaster, 40 percent, is available without a prescription. Trim as much callus away as able, cut the plaster to size of lesion, apply and leave on for 2 days, remove, trim dead skin, reapply until gone. Keep dry. Then need to pad to protect from pressure.
