Ankle Fracture: You could have a limp if it the fracture doesn't heal properly. That doesn't mean that your treatment is incorrect. It just depends on the fracture.

Ankle Fracture: Depends on the type of ankle fracture. Likely if they are letting you ambulate in a boot it is one of the more minor type of fractures. Things to watch for which would indicate further fracture displacement would be increasing pain and increasing swelling. You should have follow up xrays with your doctor in the coming weeks to evaluate the fracture healing.

Ankle fractures: Usually ankle fractures are immobilized for a period of six weeks; is it a hairline fracture? or a stress fracture? In any case, you should proceed with caution and use crutches to aide in your walking. For healing to occur, immobilization and off weight bearing is best.

Yes: If your doctor advised you not to weight bear on your fractured ankle it is advisable to do as your told. If the healing is not complete there is a good chance you can make the fracture worse, not heal in the correct position, or at the very least delay and prolong the healing time.
