A member asked:

I have had a rash for 5 years now and my doctor came back with keratosis pilaris; i don't think that is it based on photos. what else could this be?

Keratosis pilaris: Also known as hyperkeratosis follicularis this is a derm problem that usually starts in childhood or adolescence. There is accumulation of keratin around the small pores of the tiny hairs on the back up the upper arm and thighs, occasionally also buttocks. Exfoliants & cautious use of topical steroids can improve it. Does this fit with what you have? Hope this info helps.
