No: reflux is stomach acid getting through the lower esophageal sphincter-which is like the door that separates the esophagus to stomach, and this acid creeps up into esophagus causing heart burn, pain, esophageal spasms sometimes-whihc feel like chest pain. depending on your symptoms usually the next test would be an EGD=Upper Endoscopy, but some just do a trial of PPI's=prilosec/nexium like products
