It depends: on why you have retrograde blood flow to the LAD. You can have retrograde blood flow in the LAD because of a blockage at the level of the LAD or higher up and now blood flows backwards from so called collateral vessels to "feed" vital areas in the region of the LAD. In this case the heart has already been under stress for a period of time!! Though I'm not sure if this is truly the case for you.

Hard to say: Sometimes retrograde flow can indicate that there is some occlusion to the arteries that are being measured. Sometimes we see retrograde flow in the LAD after CABG procedures and with subclavian steal syndrome, but you don't indicate you've had this done.Was your stress test totally normal?Was it just an exercise/chemical stress test or did you have a nuclear cardiac scan as well?Or cardiac cath?
