A member asked:

I just got off antibiotics i still have the nasal drip coughing nonstop it's making me where i can't breathe i'm taking allergy medicine nasal steroid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patience: The fact that antibiotics did not help is not surprising. Objective evidence suggests that as high as 98% of all upper respiratory tract infections are viral. Although steroids are usually helpful, in the long run, you have to wait until your immune system halts the infection. If the breathing problem is in the nose, then wait. If the breathing problem is lower down you may need a chest X-ray.
