Ask the prescriber: You should have that conversation with the physician who prescribed the medication for your son. You should not make those decisions by yourself, nor should you take advice from someone who has not examined your son and does not know his medical history.

Stopping meds: If your son is on these meds, I assume he has a severe problem and they were prescribed for a reason. I would not tell you to take him off of them without the supervision of his doctor who gave them to him. If you have access to a holistic medical doctor, you might be able to help him be more balanced so that eventually he won't need the meds, but be cautious about taking him off without doctor
