Several causes: Swelling in your hands can occur for many reasons. Positioning of your arms overnight can cause a decrease in circulation, not allowing the blood to move as well. Salt or monosodium glutamate in food can cause fluid retention and swelling. Certain medications can cause swelling, such as anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen. If the swelling does not improve in a day or 2, I suggest being seen.
