Thyrolar (thyroxine and liothyronine) info: Thyrolar (thyroxine and liothyronine) is a trade name for a t4/t3 combination form of thyroid hormone. While T4 gives a smooth onset of action which can take several weeks to stabilize, the T3 component gives a rapid and unnecessarily brief rise in T3 levels. This discordant effect can cause side effects and make thyroid blood tests difficult to interpret. There is no proven benefit to using this type of thyroid hormone.
