A member asked:

If you are allergic to ivp dye can you use over-the-counter iodine in the bottle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Allergy to IV contrast dye does not have anything to do with iodine. Thus, it is okay to use products with iodine in people who have iv contast allergy. However, it is possible to have a separate, typically contact allergy, to iodine-based cleansers.
