Yes but..: Be careful, as the combination of the two can cause increased central nervous system depression- cognitive slowing and fatigue and psychomotor depression. Take together at night before bed and don't operate any heavy machinery or drive before you know how it affects you.

Xanax (alprazolam) & VPA ?: There is no formal interaction between these two meds (depakote & Xanax). It's important to only take those psychiatric medications that are prescribed to you by your doc, and review any questions you have with him/her.
