No physical symptoms: An XL spike on EEG is basically just a sudden brief burst of electrical activity that doesn't actually create the outward signs of a seizure. "Events" may be similar, but more of a subclinical seizure, evidence for seizure activity on the EEG but no outward physical sign of seizure.
