Yes: Sperm can live for approximately 48 hours and eggs remain fertile for about 72 hours, so if the two meet during that time, you can definitely become pregnant.

A 34-year-old member asked:

Could you get pregnant 7 days before ovulating?

Dr. Karen Jones
Obstetrics and Gynecology 38 years experience
Not very likely: It is not very likely to get pregnant with having sex 7 days prior to ovulation. The reason why it is possible is that even with regular periods sometimes a woman will ovulate earlier or later than expected. And sperm can live in the cervix for up to 5 days. It is better to use an effective form of birth control and not assume you are safe.
