Neither: Psilocybin is a naturally occurring serotonin agonist meaning it activates serotonin receptors. Unlike prescription SSRIs, which keep serotonin active once it's released, psilocybin directly activates receptors for 3-6 hours before being metabolized. It is not an antidepressant. Illicit use of psilocybin has significant risks including panic or psychotic episodes. It's also illegal.
