See details: This is an inflammatory condition effecting the face and lips. It is most common in the early adult years. Occasionally there may also be swelling or burning of the tongue or gums. It seems to occur more commonly in patients with Crohn's disease and sarcoidosis. However, the cause is unknown.TNF agents such as Remicade (infliximab) are now considered the treatment of choice.
