A member asked:

Is it possible for alcoholism to affect your brain in any way?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Definitely: That's where the main effect to the body is in alcoholism - the brain. Alcohol interferes with normal brain function when it is used in high quantities and for long periods of time. It causes judgment problems, social problems, mood problems and ultimately can cause permanent, irreversible brain damage.
