Don't be frightened: Periodontal problems, for the most part, can be effectively treated by a periodontist. Please see a local periodontist who can examine you and suggest the proper course of care.

Fear of dentistry: First, not having proper treatment always results in more difficulty to treat, poor prognosis, higher costs and bottom line, more grief. Therefore not doing anything is worse! Find a caring Periodontist who has compassion for fearful patients, get the facts and follow advice. You can overcome your fears and be healthier and happier in the end.

See a Periodontist: I'm sorry you are going through this. The good news is if you get it treated and you keep good oral hygiene your may keep your teeth till the rest of your life. You need to make an appointment with a Periodontist, a dentist who specializes in gum disease, and start a treatment plan ASAP. It will improve your oral and general health.
