Paresthesia and shot: It depends where your paresthesia is and where the novocaine shot will be. If your paresthesia is localized to a specific area and the shot will be in a different area of the body, then the chances are that the paresthesia will probably not get worse temporarily. If the paresthesia and shot are in the same area, then there will be an increase in the numbness in that area for a few hours.
