Endoscopy: Many patients have gallstones that never cause symptoms.When they do it is generally AFTER meals. There can be many sources of upper abdominal pain Not associated with eating but the most common are gastroesophageal reflux and gastritis or duodenitis. These can be diagnosed with endoscopy. Gastroenterologists and general surgeons are the best to evaluate this.
