Most are viral: Most URI are viral and will clear on their own. Use tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for fever or aches, robitussin... You may cough, bring up colored phlegm.. this is not usually dangerous. If it doesn't clear, or if you have a sore red throat, you may need an antibiotic - your Dr will have to exam you. If you have immune system disorders or chronic diseases, see your Dr. early... Best Wishes.. Dr Steve
