That does't prevent: piercing but there are potential complications. Belly button piercings can be the gift that keeps giving (pain) because clothing often rubs against it. If it gets snagged and pulled out that will really hurt.

Umbilical Hernia: Before you even consider this for one more second you must realize that you have to make sure this is not an umbilical hernia. Please have your doctor clarify if you are safe or not to have a piercing there if you have an outie....

Outies: are often umbilical hernias and piercing them could perforate the intestine which could lead to peritonitis and death. I do not recommend getting an outie pierced.
