Does drinking beer counter react taking antibiotics?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol and meds: Some meds can interfere with the enzymes necessary to breakdown alcohol thereby leading to an increase in the amount of acetaldehyde that is produced. Conversely, alcohol is broken down by enzymes that are used to metabolize certain meds. And when present is large amounts can interfere with their breakdown leading to possible drug toxicity
