Treats cancer: A doctor of medicine that treats/ studies cancer patients. There are usually 3 types of doctors that are intimately involved in treating cancer patients, surgical oncologist, medical oncologist, and radiation oncologist.

A cancer specialist.: Surgical oncologists perform cancer operations that remove the cancer and surrounding lymph nodes, generally speaking. Medical oncologist are the "quarterbacks" who give chemotherapy if needed and help coordinate the overall treatment plan. Radiation oncologists treat cancer with radiotherapy. All work together to help patients become cancer free or live the best they can with cancer.
