Yes, but only if...: If you have significant grade 4 chondromalacia('bone on bone') on the same side of the knee joint that has the radial tear than arthroscopy may not be helpful unless you have 'locking', or increased pain since tearing the meniscus.This is a controversial issue in orthopedics currently.A recent study showed no benefit for'degenerative' meniscus tear debridement in arthritic knees...
