May need diagnosis: It depends on the size of the lump. If it is less than 5 mm (1/4 inch) and has not changed in a year, it may be harmless. If it is larger or growing, might be helpful to try to find the cause. Infection is most likely, malignancy possible. Could be cyst or other tissue, rather than lymph node.
