A member asked:

Besides lowering blood pressure why is verapramil picked as the prescription, over other htn meds, by an md?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypertension: Decisions of this nature are made by the doctor depending upon the state of your renal function, underlying diseases (i.e., diabetes, etc.), the magnitude of the hypertension and so on . Why not discuss this with the doctor who ordered this? Part of a physician's responsibility is to provide patient education.
