I am on birth control, and i skipped my inactive pills to basically not have my period and i still had it. what did i do wrong?

Skipped?: When you say skipped do you mean you didn't take the placebo pills but immediately started the next pack so that there was never a day when were not taking them? If you skipped them but did not immediately start the next pack then that triggered the cycle. If you took one active pill every day then you experienced breakthrough bleeding -- annoying but harmless.
