Exam and history: It is hard to make a diagnosis on symptoms alone. If you have experienced a trauma to the head and have symptoms like headache, nausea, dizziness, memory loss, ringing in the ears and/or difficulty concentrating, you may be experiencing symptoms from a concussion. Consult with a doctor for a full assessment.

Clarity: The term post-concussion syndrome is a vague period following an acute brain injury in which recovery is occurring. Typically is complete within 4-6 weeks. More persistent symptoms beyond that point need further evaluation, as such entities like post-traumatic stress syndrome and traumatic brain injury may complicate recovery.
