It's probably not: Constipation is very uncommon in infants this young. It's normal for infants to strain, turn red in the face and even cry during bowel movements. This is called discoordinate stooling, an inability to relax their external anal sphincter at the same time they bear down to pass stool. This may last up to 4 mos of age. If your child is feeding normally & passing soft stool, it's not constipation.
