Good Observation: Yes, crowns and bridges usually have a band of metal on the lingual surfaces, with porcelain baked over the rest of the restoration. The band of metal imparts strength to the restoration and helps prevent flexing. The metallic taste can be from a cavity or other gum issues. have yourself evaluated.

See your dentist: is a change in your sense of taste and a metallic taste due to a variety of causes; from anxiety to dental problems (failure of a dental bridge), medications and treatments. Dysgeusia is not very common. Severe long-standing dysgeusia can be very significant as it may lead to patient losing interest in food. See your dentist first
