What to do if i have a kidney stone, and may have to get a lithotripsy. does it hurt?

Usually No: You're generally asleep during the procedure and shouldn't feel anything. You can ask your doctor what type of sedation will be provided to ensure you are not feeling the shock waves. After the procedure, you might have some bruising on your skin and around the kidney

Should get rid of it: Lithotripsy is done in an outpatient setting. It is not terribly painful and infinitely less painful then the pain of a large stone.
