Sure it's Sciatic?: The best place to image for sciatic nerve is the sacral spine which is right under the lumbar spine and pelvis

Maybe.: MRI (and in fact any imaging study) does not show pain. Images show anatomy. Takes a good physician to interpret your symptoms and correlate with the pictures. Your pain may or may not be related to the sciatic nerve.
