Normal response : Body responds like this sometimes. It is trying to clot and fill the area. Just like if I cut urself. The metal in the earring may have been irritating the skin so it did not heal as it usually would

Build up: It was likely built up there over a long period of time. Dotted blood can still be a semi solid. If you have no pain no redness. Just place a warm compress to the area.
