What to do to get below a1c 6?

Diabetic?: If you are diabetic, your goal is have your Hba1c under 6.5%. There is very little, if any, benefit to getting it below 6. Studies done in people with heart disease showed an increased risk for death when trying to get the level under 6. The basics of treating diabetes is always diet and exercise first, medication second.

Get A1C lower.: You can lower your A1C by keeping your blood sugar under good control via proper diet, regular exercise and medications when needed. If your finger sticks can remain in the 90-135 range in the long term, your A1C should drift down quite nicely.
