Incompetent cervix: If this was a problem because of abnormalities with the baby/fetus, such as chromosome abnormalities, I would expect the miscarriage to occur much earlier - usually within the first trimester. The fact it occurred when it did in mid-second trimester and almost exactly the same time/weight/gestational size - make me very suspicious for a problem with your cervix opening and shortening too early.
