Wait until 2 periods: Depo is a great form of birth control, but an unfortunate thing is that it takes a while to get out of your system. It can take 6-8 months from the injection. If you have 2 normal periods, then it should be out. The problem is, you don't know when the first period will happen. Use barrier contraception until you have had those periods, as the drug is category x for pregnancy, with known fetal risk
