Keep taking: Taking Folic Acid doesn't help you get pregnant. Once you are pregnant, it decreases the risk that your baby will have a defect of the brain and/or spine (called a neural tube defect.) since a tremendous amount of development goes on before you even know you are pregnant, taking it while you are trying to conceive will allow your baby to have the benefit during that critical time.

Continue folic acid: Even when you get pregnant you should continue with your Folic Acid supplement as a lack of Folic Acid during pregnancy is associated with neuronal tube defects and spinal bifida in the infant.
