how long does it take trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole to start working?

Dr. Stephen Daquino

Pretty quick: If your treating a susceptible bacterial infection you will usually see a pretty significant improvement in the first few days. Some infections of course may take longer. Ask the doc who prescribed it since i'm speaking in generalities. He or she will know better for your specific case.
