A member asked:

I'm 32, thin arms, neck & wrist. however i have belly fat. i'm 6'0 and 168lbs, but do have lots of belly fat (not distended). my a1c 5.8. my doctor labeled me as pre-d. bad genetics or diet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some of both: I suspect your abdominal fat may be related to both familial patterns of fat storage and dietary choices. To reduce abdominal fat, concentrate of fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid alcohol and simple sugars. Regular aerobic exercise will help, too.
