Risk/benefit : Many day to day activities, like riding in a car, carry a small risk of fatality. The risk of death from most medications is extremely low, and in cases where treatment is recommended, is deemed to be warranted when weighed against the risk of not treating the ailment. The patient should be a partner in health care decisions, and be as informed as possible with respect to the risk/benefit analysis
