A member asked:

Does blood tests shows high blood pressures?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They do not: All blood tests are usually normal in patients with Essential Hypertension. They can be abnormal in patients with hypertension secondary to renal disease or other causes of hypertension 2/2 identifiable source. However any patient with newly diagnosed hypertension should get all the recommended blood tests to rule out diabetes, renal disease, hyperlipidemia, electrolyte abnormalities.
