A member asked:

Can a pinched nerve somewhere in the lumbar spine cause localized swelling in the leg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not at all: Localized swelling in a limb implies that there is a local inflammatory reaction going on or possibly a vascular block a pinched nerve, however, will cause pain, numbness, and tingling. Some people describe a feeling as if they were swollen but swelling does not actually occur in a localized area as you are describing.
