Iron deficiency: Your intake is likely not keeping up with the loss due to heavy menses. You may also have problems with absorption due to celiac disease. However, with hemoglobin of 9 you would be best served if all other causes of anemia are also assessed by a specialist. Your primary doctor may be able to start a work up and will be able to refer you to a hematologist if needed.
