PAP and STD: are not related. A PAP is not a test for STDs. There are separate specific tests for various STDs and you may wish to be tested if you have had unprotected sex. Bartholin's cysts does not require conventional STD infection and can occur with other bacterial infections. Bartholin duct cyst: The Bartholin's glands are small fluid secreting glands that moisten the outer vaginal region. They connect to the surface via small ducts. If the duct becomes blocked, the fluid backs up and a cyst forms. Bartholin's cysts can become infected, sometimes from an STD. The cysts themselves do not cause the infection, and an uncomplicated Bartholin's cyst is not infectious.
