Not likely: Most minor skull abnormaltiies have nothing to do with the brain underneath. Sometimes, an abnormal brain will cause the skull to develop abnormally. Also, some blood disorders cause abnormal growth of the forehead; if this were your nephew's case, sometimes the blood disorder can cause abnormal brain development. Ask his pediatrician to be sure.
