A member asked:

20yr old. had secondary amenhorrhea from jan-march 2014. took duphaston and got period in april. no period in may. not sexually active. why no period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovulation,no menses: No period usually means you are not ovulating regularly. Stress and being too heavy or too thin are the main reasons to miss ovulation. A period every 3 to 4 months is okay unless it's extremely heavy. Consider birth control pills or other hormonal therapy unless you are trying to conceive.
