Time and technique: Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. A negative result from a test done too early is not reliable. You may wish to repeat the test in 2-3 days; use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you miss more than two periods without being pregnant, please consult your doctor.
