Yes: Women can have lighter periods when on birth control pills. Taking Plan B (it's a hormone pill) can alter the current cycle's period and also the next cycle's period. There's no need to take too many pregnancy tests. The birth control pills work, but if one keeps worrying about pregnancy and wants to keep testing, one can do a home pregnancy test every month or two (if needed for peace of mind).
