6 weeks: It takes 6 weeks for syphilis and hepatitis B blood tests to become positive. Hep C 6-8 weeks. But contrary to popular opinion, it isn't an STD. The frequency of hep C is not elevated in the sex partners of infected persons after other risk factors, like injection drug use, are taken into account. The only proved sexual transmission is in gay men who participate in traumatic anal sex practices.
