Call your surgeon: If your pain is getting worse and the pain medications you were given are not working, you will need to call your surgeon to see what they can do to help. If you are not able to talk, eat or drink anything due to the pain, and you cannot reach your surgeon or covering provider, you may need to go to your nearest urgent care or emergency room for evaluation and intravenous pain medicine and fluids.
